"I started riding ponies as a child in England, competed in gymkhanas, games and jumping. I started Dressage with Mary Flood in Virginia and went on to train with Ingrid Gentry, Todd Bryan and am currently training with Chris Hickey. I started Eventing with my TB mare and trained with Grant Schneidman in Maryland. I have participated in clinics with: Capt. Mark Phillips, Heath Ryan, Denny Emerson, Karen and David O'Connor. I attended the FEI Trainers conference last year and I am certified as an Level II instructor with the USEA and I have completed all the Certification workshops for the USDF Instructor certification. I have competed through Prelim in Eventing and through Fourth Level in Dressage. I have trained my own Hanoverian/Trakhener gelding Cooper from in-hand shows as a yearling to Fourth level, have earned my USDF Bronze Medal on him, and I am hoping to move him up to Prix St George this year. I graduated from George Mason University in Fairfax VA, and worked as a molecular biologist for 20 years." Above: Carol and Cooper. Below: Carol during her eventing days.

Lisa has been a professional trainer and instructor for over 30 years. She outlines her resume as follows:

"As a rider and trainer, I have experienced in a wide variety of disciplines including Dressage, Hunters, Jumpers, and Equitation. I have been extremely fortunate to study under some of the top trainers in the country. As a junior, I was a member of the United States Pony Club and was able to train with the very well known dressage rider, George Williams, as well as Kathy Connelly and Julie Ulrich. As a young adult, my interest shifted over to the Hunter/Jumper discipline. I was particularly interested in the Hunt Seat Equitation divisions which incorporated so many of the dressage principles I'd grown up with. I found the classes technically oriented and the riders beautiful to watch. I was coached and trained by these wonderful, New England based trainers:

Frederick Hunt (Hunt Seat Equitation) of Charisma Farm
Ian Silitch (Jumpers and Hunters) of IMS Stables
Susan Tuckerman (Jumpers and CT) of Little Sunswick Farm
Carl Catani (Hunters and Hunt Seat Equitation) of River Wind Farm
Mitch Steege (Hunters and Jumpers) of Red Acre Farm

As a professional, I feel it is important to keep my teaching fresh and up to date. In the last 5 years I have ridden in and audited clinics with Michael Dennehy, Geoff Teal, Scott Hoffstetter, Archie Cox and the legendary George Morris. In the spring of 2004 I attended a 3 day Trainers Clinic in Chicago with George Morris. In the fall of 2006 and 2007 I attended the 2 day USEF sponsored Trainers Symposiums in Wellington Florida which included internationally known trainers Karen Healy, Archie Cox, Danny Robertshaw, Candice King, Norman Delajoia and Missy Clark. I have always enjoyed working with all levels of riders as well as training any level and age group of horses."
